Explosives while magnet fishing, what now?

It rarely happens, but when it happens it’s important to know what to do. Do you suspect you caught an
explosive? Then follow our “I might have caught an explosive” roadmap:

!! Do not remove the object from your magnet. Hang the object back in to the water. Rusted metal can
break! There can be DNA on modern hand grenade and weapons. This is best preserved in water.
!! Call the police. The police will determinate if the explosive clearance group needs to be enabled.
!! Don’t leave the object on the street or take it home!
!! Stay with the object until the police arrive.
